Fresh Vegetables and Fruit at your local Farmers Market

One of my loves is going to our local farmers market. I have been going there as long as I can remember. We would go a few times a month when I was a kid. My favorite time to go was during the fall because you could find pumpkins, Indian corn, and gourds. Just like now, we were always big decorators for Halloween so we would buy plenty.

Friday, Kevin and I took a road trip to the farmers market. I saw a road trip because the traffic is always a nightmare getting there especially right now because of road construction. Therefore, it’s an adventurous obstacle course.

We had a great time, and found some really good deals. We spent $25 total and come out with some great deals. Here is what we got

  • 2-1/2lbs Bananas
  • 1/2lb Green Beans
  • 1/2lb of shelled Purple Hull Peas (My fav)
  • 4 Lemons
  • 1-1/2lbs Cherry’s
  • 6 ears of Sweet Corn
  • 1 large head of Cauliflower
  • 1-1/4lbs Tomatoes
  • 3/41b head of Broccoli
  • 5 Limes
  • 3/4lb Poblano Peppers
  • 1lb New Potatoes
  • 1lb Nectarines
  • 1lb Plums
  • 2 bunches of Green Onions
  • 1 small seedless Watermelon
  • 20 Bell Peppers (They are very large a little over 9lbs)
