*CLOSED* Daisy Cakes Product Review and 4-Layer 24 KARAT CAKE #Giveaway

I met the fine folks of Daisy Cakes at the Houston Nutcracker last November. You could not help but fall in love with not only them, but also their products. They really are some of the nicest people you could want to meet, and they take proud in their excellent products. One of the owners of Daisy Cakes gave me the opportunity to samples two of their newest products before they hit the market. I was honored to accept the offer, and more than willing to experience a little piece of Daisy Cake’s family traditions. Nothing tastes better than homemade from the heart.

The first thing that impressed me about Daisy Cakes was their professionalism, and their presentation. When I opened the box from Daisy Cakes, I found that great care went into packaging their products. It was obvious that they took just as much pride in their presentation, as they did in their products.

Chicken Pot Pie

The first thing I tried was the chicken potpie. My initial thought was wow I wish my piecrust would look at great as this crust does. It’s was flakey, smooth, and obviously made from scratch.  I put it in oven and waited. It was one of the longest waits in my life. The more it cooked the better my house smelled. The smell was intoxicating! When it came out of the oven, it was beautiful. Should you really eat something this beautiful?

After enduring the smell for what seemed like forever I could not wait to dig in. Apparently, that was the consensus throughout the house, everyone we had over for dinner was patiently impatiently waiting.

Each of our guests told me that this potpie was the best they had ever eaten. I even had someone tell me she was dreading dinner at my house because she hated pot pies. This pot pie turned her into a liar because she loved this one.

As for me, well I will be honest with you when I say I do not like piecrust, and I will not eat piecrust. Daisy Cakes changed that never to a first. I wanted to be fair and try everything. I am very happy I did. The crust was flakey, buttery, and had a wonderful flavor. The inside of the pot pie is where happiness begins. The pie was loaded with filling. Inside I found a thick creamy sauce loaded full of large chunks of white meat chicken, and more fresh vegetables than you could even imagine being in a potpie. It’s unbelievable. Luscious Lemon Curd

The next thing I tried was the Luscious Lemon Curd. I had never heard of lemon curd, so I was anxious to try it. Lemon curd is a divine lemon sauce that can be applied to bagels, English muffins, toast, or even added to chicken. The first thing I tried it on was a bagel with cream cheese. The lemon curd has a nice zesty flavor that just pops out at you, and made for an excellent breakfast. If you like lemon as much as I do you will love this curd. The second thing I did with the lemon curd is I used it on baked chicken breast. I marinated my chicken breast in soy sauce, and then baked them. The last fifteen minutes of the baking time I added the lemon curd to the top of the chicken. The chicken turned out great. It reminded me of a Hawaiian chicken. It came out of the oven with an amazing caramelized topping. We loved the curd. It’s very versatile, and the flavor is fresh, zesty, and delicious. Click here to order your Luscious Lemon Curd
