Pinterest Fun Friday: Baked Eggs

Pinterest is one of my favorite sites. I can spend hours just looking around at all the crafty and innovative ideas that people come up with. It's actually a terrible place for me to waste a lot of time. I can’t tell you how much inspiration I get from Pinterest and how many different pins I have tired. Each Friday I will be featuring something I have crafted, cooked, or found on Pinterest that I love!

Here is a great idea I found on Pinterest that I thought was worth trying... baked eggs!

The instructions read: The best way to make "hard-boiled" eggs is in the OVEN! Place the eggs in a muffin tray so they do not move around, turn the oven to 325 degrees, pop your eggs in the oven for about 25-30 minutes and remove! Not only are they tastier, but they also are much easier to peel! (If you are not making one dozen eggs at a time fill the empty wells with water.)

My take: I love the concept of baking the eggs in the oven. It’s a super easy way to do it and if you are in need of all the burners on your stove this is a great alternative.
Although the write up says the eggs taste better I didn’t noticed that they tasted any different. The write up also says that the eggs are easier to peel and they maybe if you peel them immediately. I didn’t do that! I peeled them a few hours later which may have been the problem. They were an absolute nightmare to peel at that point. I had such a mess on my hands that I just wanted to throw them all away. I blame myself for not peeling them sooner.

I would definitely give this method a try again, but this time I would peel them right away. Its fun and I didn’t have one cracked egg! That’s huge for me! No cracked eggs is certainly a selling point!

I found saw this idea on Pinterest thanks Pixie

I don't know the science behind it but I learned it from my mom (passed down from grandma) that the fresher an egg is the harder it is to peel if boiled
