Summer Sizzle Week #3 Weight In: 1 lb DOWN!!!



I didn’t have high expectations for today’s Summer Sizzle weigh in. After all four of the days this week I was eating and living it up in New Orleans only to come home and weigh in on Wednesday morning only to find that I have gained 1.8 lbs. I was expecting worse yet it crushed me at the same time. I hate working hard only to slide backwards.
I decided that I wasn’t going to let this minor setback derail me, and it didn’t not only did I lose the 1.8 lbs. that I gained while in New Orleans but I lost an additional 1 pound.

Although 1 pound doesn’t sound like a lot it is when you consider that I actually lost 2.8 pounds this week to make up for the 1.8 I gained while in a mini vacation.
I am beyond proud of myself because I worked hard and I earned it! I was focused and determined I was not going to see a gain for my weigh in today! Thrilled doesn’t even begin to explain how I am feeling.

Last summer (like this summer) I went to New Orleans during my summer challenge only to never return to my diet. This year I decided that I wanted this too bad to let my vacation be the reason I gave up and never moved forward.
Well look out world I am moving forward and I am full speed ahead!  So far I have lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks and guess what I am damn proud of those 9 pounds!!

Week 4 will be no exception!

Goals:
  • Adding a lot of water! I am hoping to get in 1 gallon a day we will see but I am hoping! 128 ounces is the goal!
  • I am going to keep my calories at 1700 as recommended by myfitnesspal.com (ReadytoShine is my username friend me)
  • I am going to do no less than 6 hours of exercise and looking forward to trying a new arm weigh exercise. I have such fat arms that I need some serious help! Suggestions please!
  • I am going to lose 3 lbs. this week or die trying lol!

Congrats on losing the "vacation weight" and then some! You should be proud of your hard work.
As for arm exercises - do you have a set of free weights? They are relatively inexpensive and you can get a set of dumbbells in 3lbs, 5lbs and 8lbs or even heavier as you build up to it. Google arm exercises and a million things will come up. Prevention magazine also has GREAT workouts that target all body parts and you can watch videos of the workouts online or they often have photo tutorials to show you step by step motions of each exercise. Dropping 9 lbs in 3 weeks is awesome!! Surviving being on holiday and keeping weight loss in focus is a great success. Definitely be proud :) Good luck this week!

targeting for fat loss doesn't really work. But If you build muscle, the fat looks less flabby! So pushups, tricep dips, bicep curls... time to start looking into those muscle building workouts! :) No worries.. it takes forever to bulk up, especially for a woman. It will help tone those arms!

There are 2 things that derail us in our weight loss goals... illness, and vacation! Well done on not letting vacation get the better of you! You're doing awesome on this challenge -- and can't wait to hear how you've done this week! Good luck! :D
