I really didn’t think I was going to see a loss this week I thought for sure I would see a gain. I just wasn't as motivated last week as I should have been. The good news is I saw a loss! 1.80lbs to be exact SWEEET that makes 14.4lbs since the weight loss challenge began I am averaging 2.88 pounds a week which is good considering I had a horrible vacation week in there too.
To my surprise I am still very motivated and excited to be a part of this challenge. I would be lying if I said it was easy or that there were not discouraging times. My life certainly isn't perfect and there are times that I just want to eat whatever comes my way, and at times I do, but I make sure I make up for it in my workouts. If I eat out I workout. If I splurge I work it off. There is no free pass on my diet that's for sure.
I have a love hate relationship with my workouts I hate them in general, I never want to workout, in truth I despise the idea of working out but I do. I do it because I love how I feel when I am done. I love how my body is already changing. My legs are firming up and I feels so much better. Don't get me wrong there are some days that I feel like a little old woman the day after a hard workout, but because I am working my butt off I am going to live to be an old woman, or at least I am doing everything I can to make sure that I will be.
I know there are a lot of people that started the Summer Sizzle who have already fizzled out. I want to encourage you to come back, or if you haven't started start today. Hop on today. I have no doubt Rochelle would be happy to have you on the Summer Sizzle. There is plenty of time left and when this challenge is over another one always starts up some place.
I want to challenge anyone who has been thinking about it to hop on and get with it. You only live once and why make that one life a fat and miserable one. I can point you to the people that get me through the day sometimes and I have no doubt they will be happy to help you too: Rochelle at Does this Butt Make My blog look fat?, Eli from Fat boy Slim Man (I love this man he is amazing), and Rick from Constructing a New Rick all keep me motivated along with Alison at Under the Big Oak Tree. Let's do this together!!
Goals for week #6
- I need to make sure that I down all the water my body is craving during this hot summer. I know not drinking enough water has been a huge setback for me.
- I also know that I need to stop the late night snacking and the later nights in general. Going to bed earlier will help prevent me from eating when I shouldn’t be. Those are two major goals for the week and I have no doubt I will excel at both of them. Let’s just say I am very determined.
- I need to make sure to start calculating all the late night snacking that I do so that I can get a true and accurate number on myfitnesspal.com
- I have a big goal of 3 pounds that I want to lose for week #6.
Weight Loss:
- Week #1 - 5.6 lbs.
- Week #2 - 2 lbs.
- Week #3 - 1lb. (Vacation)
- Week #4 - 3.4 lbs.
- Week #5 -1.8 lbs.
- Week #6 ?
I am excited to still be up and running for week #6 and more than anything I am very proud of myself. Between my husband and I we have lost over 30lbs since we started on our weight loss challenge to ourselves.
Congrats to everyone still on the Summer Sizzle!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!

I am so happy you are still super excited to be a part of the challenge. Me too! And I am happy to be working "alongside" my fellow challengers, even if it's in the cyber sense. You are really rocking the weight loss so keep it going! You have the right attitude, girl!
