Don Tomas Coffee Review @DonTomasBuzz

My husband and I are huge coffee drinkers! In the past we have spent a lot of money on coffee at some of your more popular coffee shops and some local coffee shops too. At one point in time we realized we were spending almost $300 dollars a month on coffee from the coffee shops. $300 REALLY? We decided that had to change. We were buying subpar coffee but paying a premium for it. As my husband said we were paying for a bag of premium coffee daily but only getting a few cups out of the bag.

Two years ago we decided to curb our coffee spending and invested in a good coffee machine so we purchased a Keurig. We also decided that since we were no longer going out for coffee that we would only buy the best coffee and coffee creamers we could find, and still be frugal at the same time. We have really loved experiencing different brands and flavors of coffee from around the world. It’s amazing what we were missing hanging out in the coffee shops! There is a whole coffee world out there baby!!

Recently we were given the opportunity here at Colie’s Kitchen to try Don Tomas Coffee. I was asked to choose which flavor I would prefer to try and I chose Don Tomas’ Harvest Mood Decaffeinated. Most people would think choosing decaffeinated coffee was a crazy choice, but not me! I chose it because I love to have a good cup of decaffeinated coffee and night, and one thing I have found is that it’s very hard to find a good cup of decaf. If your decaf is good I know your regular coffee has to be great! For me the decaf was an easy choice.

As soon as the box of Don Tomas coffee arrived my husband and I both screeched because we could smell the coffee coming through the box. On a hot summer day in Texas you can smell just about everything coming through boxes, but it’s usually not a good smell. This smell was incredible! It smelled clean and fresh it smelled like coffee heaven.

I was wondering how long it would take my husband before he couldn’t stand it anymore and had to open the bag. It wasn’t long I assure you. We have the Keurig reusable coffee filters so we can use any type of coffee in the machine. He got it all set up and running and we waited for the smell. Oh the smell! The Don Tomas Coffee has an incredible smell.  It wasn’t just a fluke that the smell coming from the shipping box smelled so clean and fresh! The coffee brewing smelled crisp, fresh and very aromatic.

OK so it smells good, but does it have a good flavor? No it doesn’t have a good flavor at all it actually has a FANTASTIC flavor!!! This is the kind of coffee I hide from my husband so that I can have it all to myself kind of flavor. In all honesty it’s the BEST decaf coffee I have ever had. I am so pleasantly surprised just how fantastic it really is. The flavor is rich, and bold! I love that the fragrance of the coffee carries on in the flavor. 

What really clinched my love for the Don Tomas’ Harvest Mood Decaf was that all of my biggest pet peeves in the coffee world were put to rest. The coffee doesn’t have a bitter tinny taste, and it doesn’t have a bitter after taste. In actuality it has such a great aftertaste that it makes you want to have another cup and then another cup. This is truly at the top of my coffee list.

I am (admittedly) not easy to please especially when it comes to my coffee but Don Tomas coffee met all of my requirement expectations. Bold flavor…. great flavor…. does not taste decaf…. aromatic… no bitter tinny after taste... what more could I ask for?  This coffee truly is an A+ from me!
