Morning Coffee with Colie

What's On Your Plate Today?

Good Morning Everyone!!

I decided at the end of 2012 that I was going to bring back Coffee with Colie in 2013 then I forgot.  Now it’s the 10th day into the year and here we are back again.

I also thought this would be a good time to (try) wrap up what my dieting was like the day before, but depending on how things go I may do a separate post for that I don’t know… still thinking on it.

Anyway I am happy to have coffee with you again. Last year my life took a few hectic twists and turns that had my mornings running shorter than normal so having coffee was out. I am hoping and praying that 2013 is a different story. So far so good…

My healthy eating this week has been an epic fail. Isn’t weird how suddenly you get this imaginary smack in the head and realize that you have been sabotaging yourself? I know what to eat, what not to eat, but more than anything I know how to prepare for a successful week of health eating but this week I didn’t do it.

I can lose weight steadily if I count calories and exercise. I am very successful with that but there are certain things I MUST have in the house for that to be accomplished.

I must have:
  • Frozen fruit
  • Plain Organic fat free yogurt
  • 2% Organic Milk
  • PB2
  • Rice Cakes
  • Bottled Water
  • Ice Tea
  • Carton Egg Whites
  • Canned Chicken
  • Corn tortillas
  • Salsa
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Cabbage
  • NuNaturals Stevia
  • Raw honey
  • Light Mayo
  • Brown rice
  • Whole wheat bread
The items in yellow are the ones I have on hand the other’s I never bothered to pick up. I know myself well enough to know I allowed these missing items that are my “go-to’s” to be the reason I haven’t tried too hard this week. I did work out … no excuses for me there! My legs are sure tired too!

I have made an executive decision that this week I am going to work out, and eat the best I can and this weekend I am going to get my stuff together. I need to dip from fruit in plain yogurt and freeze it for a snack, make up a huge pot of brown rice, get veggies cut up for snacks and make some yogurt dip up for veggie dipping. Most importantly I need to do some shopping for those missing items.  The rice cakes are always my go to. Good thing I don’t count carbs (for now) or those would be a no no!

How is everyone else doing? I wish I had better news to report but a new day is born and Monday starts a new week. This set back won't deter me.

Happy Birthday to my cousin Angela!!
