After many attempts to find a group working on weight loss
goals that I thought would work well with my goals and my needs for support I have
decided to move on and go at it alone. I have failed in the past at going at it
alone, but this time I have different things going on in my head and in my life
to keep me motivated.
I really thought since it was the beginning of a new year I would
find a ton of people working on weight loss goals and groups working together, but
the only two I found were not really what I was looking for. I will keep looking,
but I will be moving forward at the same time.
I have used this week to start removing the holiday clutter
and holiday goodies from my house. My rule this week has been either stuff it
in your mouth or stuff it in the trash either way get it out of the house.
Monday I will jump back into my weight loss journey and
hopefully not get derailed this time. I had great success last summer and I hope
to continue it through this year. I hope to reach my goal by the end of the
summer. How cool would that be? I don't do diets because diets fail. My journey is for health, happiness, and figuring out what works for me. I know for sure diets do not. Eating in moderation, and exercising do. Counting calories for me is KEY to my success. You have to do what works for you!
My plan goal is to post a follow up post each night (time
permitting) on how my day went. If you are so inclined I would love to have you
join me and do the same thing.
I believe the more support you get the harder it is to get
distracted by life. When it comes to diet and exercise I don’t believe in
excuses!
I have heard more than my share of excuses this week from people….
I don’t believe you don’t have time or you don’t have the
energy or you just can’t do it. I hate HATE excuses. I am too fat to exercise.... No you are fat because you don't exercise.... I
don’t have the time.... No you dont' want to make time... and I have this or that or whatever going on… my answer to
that is WHATEVER!
Stop being an excuse making lazy butt! You can’t tell me you don’t have even 30 minutes to walk around your front yard or a few minutes to do jumping jacks or watch television and do sit-ups. Excuses! I know my cousin is reading this and she knows this is directed at her, but she also knows I love her that is why I am up her rear about this. She is on board now by the way so I can pick on her lol. Everyone has a family I take care of, a home to run, and so on…. Who doesnt? It’s just an excuse and until it stops making excuses some things will never change!

The next excuses... I don’t have the money to go on a diet….
SERIOUSLY? That’s the perfect time to go on a diet. You don’t need to buy as many
groceries! Eat in moderation… exercise (it’s free by the way) and you will lose
weight. You don’t have to buy fancy food, or anything else. Just eat less and
move more! We can't all have food delivered to our door, and by the way why would you want too? As soon as the food delivery stops you will fail because you didn't learn how to make the food on your own.
My FAVORITE excuse this week... I have three kids, and they are in the way, and they do this, and they do that, they want to get on my elliptical with me, they still get to eat the good food and I can't resist the food they eat... blah ... blah... blah.... Don't let your kids be your excuse let them be your incentive. If you shouldn't be eating the food they probably shouldn't either. Be an example!
If you have legs you can exercise! Heck my father-in-law
did not have real legs he had artificial legs and still managed to coach a
hockey team, volunteer, do his home duties, hunt, fish, and take care of two children. No
excuses! He would have kicked your butt for making excuses! So as I told all the excuse makers this week... keep making your excuses... I have already stopped listening!
So now that I have gone on my “Nicole can’t take any more
excuses this week rant” who’s moving on and losing weight now or starting next week? Come
on join me!!! I would love it! .... I am proud of the eager beavers by the way!!!

Nicole, I was disappointed that the group you'd found no longer existed. I returned to Weight Watchers last February. I'm a Lifetime member, but not at goal (less than 5 pounds, though). It's taken me since then to shed 20+ pounds. Along the way I decided to give up blogging, though I've started posting sporadically again. I walk 3X a week, do zumba once a week, and yoga once a week. I loathe exercise, but it's a must. While it's taken me a long time to lose those pounds, on WW I seldom feel deprived. I intend to continue to check in with you daily. When I do post, most of the time it's dishes I've lightened. We can do this and still indulge our love for cooking and food.
