Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day: Chocolate Chip Cookies

It’s that time again!! Secret Recipe Club Reveal Day. Sadly, I am very late with this post! I have to apologize to the Club and to Kristin the head chef at Loving Life. We were given our assignments in December and there has been a lot of holidays, life, and craziness between that date and today.
I feel so lucky to be able to take over Kristin’s kitchen this month because she has such a nice organize kitchen full of wonderful recipes. I have to admit I had a ton of trouble narrowing down what I was going to make but when I needed a quick and easy batch of cookies for a party my husband and I were invited to I knew exactly what I was going to be making! The Loving Life Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe stood out because instead of just flour it also has oatmeal in the batter. I love oatmeal cookies and I love chocolate chip so what better than the combination of the two?

I love to let the dough rest!

I must admit that after I decided to make this recipe I almost felt like I was “pupping out” on the club because I chose something as simple as chocolate chip cookies, but boy was I WRONG! These cookies are incredible!

This recipe is delicious! It’s rich, creamy, and bakes up beautifully! The flavor is something to write home about. Next time I am trying them with either, nuts, M&M’s or raisins! They don’t do a lot of spreading which I love. I always cram too many cookies on a pan so I normally end up with three giant cookies but not in this case!

The only problem I had was getting my mixer to want to mix everything at the bottom of the bowl. I love you Kitchen Aid, but at times, this is where you fail! In the end I did a final mix with my hands. No biggy! Like I was complaining about licking my fingers. 😉

Here are my beautiful chocolate chip cookies! I had to snap my pictures fast because they went super-fast. As soon as they came out of the oven I was having to scoot everyone out of the kitchen. They taste even better than they smell. Yes, that’s possible! Why knew?
I would like to thank Kristin and Loving Life for allowing me to take over her kitchen this month! Click Here to Visit Loving Life.

These cookies look so good. Chocolate chip cookies are just the best – and I love the oatmeal variety too. Great SRC pick!!

It’s hard finding a good chocolate chip cookie, and it looks like you did just that. I loved your story behind making these, and here I thought I was the only one who had an issue with my cookies turning into one huge sheet cookie! Great job this month! 🙂
